Easy work management
Smartsheet has flexible views to display data including grid, card (Kanban), Gantt, and calendar, empowering teams to work together with agility, speed, and accountability.
Excel is limited to a grid view, which makes it difficult to plan, track, and report on key workflows.
Smartsheet met our needs for a platform that would serve the whole company, including support of BYOD and mobility for employees. We've also proven that you don't always need a large-scale project management system. A spreadsheet-based system becomes powerful because it is easy for employees to use.
Improved collaboration
Smartsheet is an online platform with the power to share work, attach details, and automate alerts, creating one location to access and collaborate on projects in real time.
In Excel, version control quickly becomes an issue because updates to data do not happen real-time.
It's been a tremendous help for me when I'm reporting to the executive team. I can easily show the task lists that demonstrate that the team has thought through every detail for each event. Plus anyone on the management team can drill down, and view documents at any time if they want to find out what we're doing.
Better visibility
Smartsheet reports and dashboards are fully customizable to roll up key information across projects. Full version history captures changes and enables auditing.
Excel online does not have the functionality to roll up data for projects across multiple workbooks. Providing visibility into the "big picture" is a manual process.
The type of work that is managed within the organization is broad - ranging from donor outreach and event planning to the construction of homes. Smartsheet enables us to stay informed at all times.
Accessibility for all
With Smartsheet Provisional Use, your teams can fully explore all features before making any extra purchases, ensuring uninterrupted collaboration on important projects and deadlines.
Sharing in Excel can be confusing and not all features are fully supported. Excel allows for co-authoring, but has limited features for managing work.
More integrations
Smartsheet has twelve O365 integrations and many others, including Salesforce, Jira, DocuSign, Google, Box, Dropbox, and more.
Excel has integrations with Power BI and Azure but limited connection with other O365 applications.
With Smartsheet for JIRA now, all of our reports are in one place. It's really helped with a lot of the redundancy that I was facing.
