Brent Frei is the Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Smartsheet.com.

Launched in 2006 and based in Bellevue, Washington, Smartsheet.com is a privately-held Software as a Service (SaaS) provider that gives people a fast, easy way to get things done. Smartsheet makes teams more efficient and productive through an innovative easy-to-use online application.

Before joining Smartsheet in 2007, Frei was executive vice president of Intellectual Ventures.

Prior to this, Frei served as CEO of Onyx Software Corp., a Bellevue-based customer relationship management (CRM) software company he co-founded in 1994.

After starting out at Motorola, the early part of Frei’s career was spent as a programmer analyst with Microsoft Corporation.

In 2001, the Smithsonian Institute recognized Frei as a "Pioneer in Technology." In 1997, Ernst and Young named him an “Entrepreneur of the Year.”

Frei received his bachelor's degree in engineering from Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering and a BA in engineering sciences from Dartmouth College.
