Smartsheet Integrates with Evernote; Wins Evernote’s User-Nominated Best Business App Award

Bellevue, Wash. – Sept. 4, 2014 - Smartsheet, the collaborative work management tool used by nearly 50,000 paying organizations and millions of users worldwide, today announced it now integrates with Evernote. Smartsheet users can now attach Evernote notes directly to Smartsheet, where they can then assign responsibilities and due dates, track percent complete, schedule resources and more in the work management tool. The seamless workflow between the two leading SaaS apps enables users to turn ideas and notes into actionable plans and processes.

Additionally, Smartsheet was chosen as the winner of the Evernote Platform Awards: Business Category and will be showcased at the Evernote Conference in October.

“Millions of teams use Smartsheet and Evernote every day, and now our application integration makes our respective taglines, 'Remember Everything' and 'Coordinate Anything,' truly fulfill Evernote's intention to manage ‘Your Life's Work,’” said Mark Mader, CEO and president of Smartsheet.

The new integration between the leading SaaS tools provides the ability to quickly add a note as an attachment to Smartsheet, much like with Google Drive, Box and Dropbox, and share it with others in context of the project. This built-in capability helps teams create content in Evernote, quickly connect it with the actionable project plans in Smartsheet, and share it with people involved in the project to drive work forward.

"Evernote is the workspace where teams collect research, write documents together, and from where they present their work to colleagues and clients," said Ken Gullicksen, CSO of Evernote. "Bringing that workspace together with the planning and scheduling features of Smartsheet creates a powerful tool for teams working collaboratively in any industry."

Evernote is now directly integrated with Smartsheet

Now with the new integration, workflows are efficient and seamless across teams and devices. For example:

  • Design agencies and marketing firms use Evernote to clip web articles, capture sample designs and take meeting notes. They attach these notes to Smartsheet rows to turn ideas into project plans with resource allotment, budgets, automated notifications and Gantt chart timelines.

  • Financial analysts, product and sales teams add research or competitive notes and itemize checklists for prospects in Evernote and attach them to rows in Smartsheet. This ensures all client information is in one place, always up to date and associated with the various stages in the pipeline.

  • Vendors and consultants snap photos, capture handwritten notes and gather logistical information on mobile devices in Evernote. Attaching these items to individual tasks in Smartsheet helps ideas move forward and associates relevant information with action items for added efficiency.

“I rely on both of these tools daily to manage my workflow—they’re critical to my practice,” said Marc Kaufman, partner at Reed Smith LLP. “Having them more tightly integrated is a great time-saver and boost to efficiency.”

Smartsheet is deployed in a broad range of customer environments, including many of the world’s industry-leading organizations such as Google, Netflix, Cisco, Bayer, Groupon, Pearson, HomeAway, McGraw-Hill Education, DHL, ESPN, Sony Music and MetLife.
