Smartsheet Previews New Enterprise Features

Bellevue, WA — May 9, 2011 — Smartsheet, a top-ranked online project management app in the G Suite Marketplace, announces it will attend the Google I/O Developer Conference May 10-11 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. The company will be demoing new enterprise administration functionality, along with major enhancements to its mobile and workflow offerings, in the Google Apps section of the Developer Sandbox at the conference.

Smartsheet’s flexible, intuitive spreadsheet-like tool helps teams increase productivity and collaborate more effectively and efficiently on projects, tasks and processes. It offers broad Google Apps/Docs/Calendar integration and turns Google Spreadsheets, Excel or MS Project files into flexible online projects with features such as Gantt charts, dependencies, sub-tasks, file sharing, and threaded comments on any row. Additionally, users can sign into Smartsheet with Google account info for an added level of convenience.

“As a top-ranked app in the G Suite Marketplace since its launch more than a year ago, we’re seeing an increasing number of larger organizations looking for enterprise-ready cloud apps in the Marketplace,” said Mark Mader, CEO of Smartsheet. “To address their unique requirements, we’re looking forward to showcasing new controls fundamental to delivering and managing a great customer experience--while balancing it with the flexibility and ease of use for which Smartsheet is known.”

At Google I/O, Smartsheet will unveil new functionality designed to give group admins new tools for onboarding and monitoring users, transferring ownership of content, and manging data access. “A growing number of Smartsheet customers are large enterprises, where hundreds or thousands of users across many departments rely on the tool to manage work,” added Mader. “Providing admins with the capability to self-direct the initial deployment and ongoing management of accounts and content is a must-have for apps to succeed in larger settings.”

New Smartsheet features include:

  • Content ownership transfer: Admins can transition the ownership of content from one user to another.
  • Account security: Admins can now globally remove employees (and non-employees) from company-owned content.
  • Access reports: Consolidated reports show which users are shared company-owned content.
  • Detailed login reports: Visibility into user login date-time, IP address, and device information
  • Shared administration: Team plans and higher now allow for multiple admins to perform license and user management functions.

Smartsheet anticipates the general availability of its new release later this month.

At Google I/O, Smartsheet joins thousands of developers who are building the web, mobile, and enterprise applications using open web technologies such as Android, Google Chrome, Google APIs and more.
