We have enhanced the in-app conversations experience in two ways:
- You can now see in real-time when others are typing comments at the sheet or row level. If one or two other people are typing at the same time, you will see their names at the bottom of the conversations panel (e.g., “Kirk Caskey and Lori Garcia are typing”). If more than two other people are typing at once, you will see, “Someone is typing.”
- We have also added a relative timestamp to each comment (e.g., 6 minutes ago or 2 weeks ago) so you can quickly gauge (without any calculation) when a conversation was last active. You can still see the absolute timestamp (e.g., March 17, 2021, 2:20 PM) by hovering your mouse over the relative timestamp.
Conversations are available to paid and free users on all Smartsheet plans, but you must have at least editor permissions on a sheet to add your own comments.
