Identity and access management

Smartsheet simplifies user management and access for the way your teams work today. We have several features and integrations that help administrators manage access controls:

  • Single sign-on (SSO), a streamlined login authentication method, is supported by Google, Microsoft, and SAML 2.0 providers.
  • User Auto Provisioning automatically imports any person whose email domain matches the one that you have verified with Smartsheet under the purview of your current governance and compliance policies.
  • Account Discovery enables you to quickly identify and consolidate any other Smartsheet accounts within your organization.
  • Directory Integration allows you to directly sync your Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AD) users into Smartsheet so you can easily manage all your systems from one place and align with your established processes for managing user access.
  • User and group management capabilities enable System Admins to add and manage users, create groups for easy sharing, and manage incoming license requests.

Data governance and control

We believe that effective data governance is indispensable for today’s enterprise to ensure the information assets of the organization are created, used, shared, and protected in line with the applicable regulations and industry best practices. Here are some examples of what we offer:

  • Dynamic View helps teams manage critical processes with vendors, mixed internal and external teams, or across organizations, without compromising confidentiality or sensitive information.
  • Event Reporting provides granular visibility into user behavior and activity within your organization’s Smartsheet account. This feature enables you to identify anomalous patterns in usage and surface potential risks, so they can more tightly enforce organizational security and compliance policies. 
  • WorkApps eliminate the need to share the underlying assets contained within the WorkApp. You can create a WorkApp with a filtered view of selected sheets and reports, but none of those items need to be shared with the end-user. 
  • Customer managed encryption keys (CMEK) put you in the driver’s seat to control access to data at rest in your sheets. With CMEK, you can monitor, grant, and revoke access to your data using your own key, stored outside of Smartsheet for ultimate encryption control.
