We were able to take our implementation team’s automated emails outside of Salesforce and move into Bridge through the use of an API with SendGrid. This has saved us time and allowed us to accelerate process improvements and process changes, by eliminating the need to go through our Salesforce Administrator and various approval stages. Bridge is a Smartsheet capability that allows you to build triggered workflows to automate repeatable, condition-based processes beyond what is currently available in the Smartsheet experience. Bridge is a tool to take actions in Smartsheet and Resource Management, but also has direct integrations with other systems and can be used with the Call API tool and JavaScript for additional functionality and customization.
Bridge is recommended when you would like to create more complex or cross-sheet automations in Smartsheet.
Sheet automations are limited in the actions they can perform and can only perform automations on the sheet on which they’re built. Bridge, on the other hand, can perform more actions across sheets, as well as performing automations like sharing a sheet or deactivating a Smartsheet user. Bridge can also work with APIs and JavaScript to further unlock your ability to interact with other systems.

If Bridge has been purchased on your account, the Bridge System Administrator identified at the time of purchase (typically the primary Smartsheet System Administrator) will have received a welcome email with a link to the unique URL of your Bridge environment. This System Administrator will need to add others individually to your Bridge account and share the unique URL.
