DataTable allows you to create a secure reference data store location within Smartsheet outside of your workspaces — one that can be shared with specific collaborators and then leveraged across multiple sheets as a single source of truth.
With DataTable, you can store up to 2 million rows of data and create “add & update” or “lookup” connections to sheets to use subsets of this larger dataset. DataTable can ingest information from large enterprise systems into Smartsheet such as ERPs, CRMs, and HCMs with the help of Data Shuttle.
Data Shuttle is a tool that can be used to import or export CSV or XLSX files from external systems into Smartsheet. DataTable can be used to store this data so that you can leverage it across many sheets as a common data source. DataMesh works similarly to Data Shuttle but instead of connecting between an external dataset and Smartsheet, it can be used to merge and sync data between two different sources (such as a sheet) within Smartsheet.
DataTable is meant to securely store large datasets in Smartsheet so they can be referenced across multiple sheets. This is helpful for sensitive datasets like project financials and budgets, HR information, client contact lists or but can also be a useful reference dataset for product and part numbers that may be coming from other systems.
