The new Smartsheet user subscription model helps customers realize more value by simplifying pricing, budgeting, and administration. No matter the challenge, you and your teams are able to collaborate in the ways that work for you, evolve your programs and processes, and effectively manage all of your users. Smartsheet is changing its subscription model based on customer feedback and industry standards. The new model aims to make it easier for new users to try the platform, simplify subscription management, and provide quicker visibility into user activity and productivity.
The new Smartsheet user subscription model is effective June 24, 2024. For new plans, these changes apply immediately. For existing customers, the new model will take effect at the first renewal in 2025. If you have a multi-year plan, the changes will apply when your plan is up for renewal. Smartsheet Advance is not impacted by the new model at this time.
Smartsheet will be allowing a small segment of customers to move to the new subscription model in 2024. If you are interested in seeing if you qualify, please talk to your account representative to discuss your eligibility.
Customers are unable to opt out of any aspect of our new user subscription model. This is a change that will be occurring across the entire Smartsheet customer base.
The user subscription model allows new users to experience value upfront, while improving account management for greater control. By eliminating bottlenecks and accelerating collaboration, the new model offers a more seamless experience, so it makes sense for all new features to be built exclusively on it. Examples of new features available on the user subscription model: Collections and file library.
Please note: State and Local Government, as well as EDU customers, will gain early access to these features before transitioning to the user subscription model, with automatic activation once they become available.
You always have the option to upgrade your plan to unlock additional capabilities for project, program, or portfolio management. You can also add or remove users, purchase more licenses, or cancel your subscription at anytime. These actions are subject to terms at Smartsheet User Agreement.
Yes, for customers with Enterprise plans. These plans are covered by our Service Level Agreement.
We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), ACH direct debit, and PayPal. For Enterprise subscriptions that meet a minimum fee, we offer invoicing for payment via credit card, check, ACH, or wire. Payment options may vary by billing country.

Eligible organizations have current, valid 501c(3) status in the United States or equivalent status in other countries.
An organization will NOT be eligible if any of the following conditions apply: 1) it is an educational institution; 2) it is a governmental office or department; 3) it is a hospital or other healthcare provider or an organization involved with health insurance; 4) it engages in political or legislative activity; 5) it is a private grant-making, independent, or operating foundation with an endowment greater than $10M; 6) it is a financial institution; 7) it is an advocacy group or a group that otherwise attempts to influence public opinion; or 8) it discriminates on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, political affiliation or beliefs, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression. Smartsheet reserves the right to decide who is eligible for this discount program.
During your purchase process, indicate that you are a nonprofit and tell us a little about your organization. Smartsheet reserves the right to reset pricing for customers who mistakenly receive nonprofit pricing to standard commercial price points.
